Production Chemist Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Production Chemist to join our team. As a key member of the production department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our products.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, with experience in pharmaceutical production. You will be responsible for managing chemical processes, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety protocols.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Batch Preparation and Execution: Assist in the preparation and execution of chemical batches, following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and consistent product quality.
  • Safety Management: Safely manage pyrophoric reagents, Raney nickel, and operate pressure reactors (autoclave) in line with company policies.
  • Filtration Techniques: Perform the filtration of low-melting solids and ensure optimal filtration techniques are applied.
  • Quality Control: Report any deviations from specifications and work with the senior chemist to troubleshoot and rectify issues.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records, test results, and any deviations from standard procedures.
  • Reporting and Communication: Generate reports and summaries as required by the production and quality control teams.
  • Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Hazard Identification: Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns promptly.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Chemistry: Candidates with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in chemistry from a reputable university may apply.
  • Pharmaceutical Experience: Individuals with up to 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical production sector may apply.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and work effectively as part of a team.
