Job Overview:
We are seeking a professional who can empower blind and low-vision individuals by providing technical assistance. Our organization is dedicated to closing the employment gap for individuals with disabilities.
The Accessibility Partner Program is a flagship initiative that pairs trained visual interpreters, known as Access Partners (APs), with blind and low-vision professionals. These APs provide real-time support in technical work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visual interpretation, data summarization, and navigation assistance within platforms such as Azure Portals, Excel, and Visual Studio.
- Assist in converting and formatting documents to meet accessibility standards.
- Summarize meetings, manage task follow-ups, and track progress in collaboration with team members.
- Utilize formulas, pivot tables, and other Excel tools to streamline workflows.
- Create and manage spreadsheets for data tracking and analysis.
- Review, interpret, and make basic code changes.
Requirements:
- Basic coding knowledge and understanding of code structure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to work with large data sets.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide support in a clear, professional manner.
- Maintain clear, professional communication in English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn and openness to training in accessibility standards and related tools.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
