Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

This role is responsible for providing technical support to desktop users, ensuring seamless operation of computer systems and software applications.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating system installation, configuration, and troubleshooting; hardware assembly, upgrade, and repair; software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with users and resolve issues.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They will be an integral part of our IT team, working closely with colleagues to deliver exceptional support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operating System Support: Installation and configuration of operating systems across devices, ensuring seamless integration with existing hardware.
  2. Hardware Support: Assembling, upgrading, and troubleshooting of computer hardware to maintain optimal performance and efficiency.
  3. Software Support: Installation, configuration, backup, and troubleshooting of standard applications including MS Outlook, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  4. Network Support: Installation and troubleshooting of network printers; VPN and firewall configuration to ensure secure data transmission.
  5. Security: Implementing BitLocker encryption, antivirus updates, and virus protection management to safeguard sensitive company data.
  6. Active Directory Management: Creating user accounts, resetting passwords, updating group policies, and controlling access to ensure a secure and organized environment.
  7. Remote Support: Providing remote assistance for software and system-related issues, minimizing the need for on-site visits.
  8. Asset Management: Coordinating with vendors for hardware issues and maintaining inventory records for hardware and software assets, ensuring accurate tracking and procurement.
