Key Contract Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled contract specialist to join our team. As a key member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for commercial contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, master services agreements, and data privacy agreements.
  • Manage contract-related issues that may arise with external parties or internally within the company.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop creative solutions and draft alternative terms as needed.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard contract terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams on contract terms and legal obligations to promote consistency and conformity.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of legal administrative processes and documents.
  • Partner with internal teams to drive process improvements and ensure exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • A university-level degree or equivalent with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms and conditions with customers or vendors.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing is required, including IAACM or similar certification.
  • Familiarity with media organizations is desirable.
  • Proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Ability to manage complex issues and apply legal, financial, and business principles to contracting.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, document systems, and MS Office, particularly advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and willing to learn and take on new tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
