Strategic Procurement Leader - Solar EPC Projects

The role involves overseeing the procurement lifecycle, developing vendor strategies, and ensuring cost optimization.

About the Position:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving procurement planning aligned with project timelines and organizational goals.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Procurement Strategy Development:
    • Lead the end-to-end procurement process, including strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
    • Develop vendor relationships at a senior level.
  2. Vendor Identification & Management:
    • Identify and onboard reliable vendors for solar components and services.
    • Conduct regular vendor evaluations and audits for quality, performance, compliance, and cost.
  3. Cost Optimization & Commercial Analysis:
    • Develop and implement cost-control strategies to optimize procurement spend.
    • Analyze supplier quotations and conduct thorough commercial evaluations.
  4. Process Compliance & Documentation:
    • Ensure full compliance with internal procurement policies, statutory guidelines, and project specifications.
    • Maintain transparent documentation and reporting mechanisms for audits and internal controls.
  5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with Project Management, Engineering, Finance, and Logistics teams.
    • Monitor material requirement plans and proactively address supply risks or delays.
  6. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Lead and mentor the procurement team to build capability and performance.
    • Establish KPIs, monitor progress, and drive process improvements across the department.
  7. Key Skills & Qualifications:
    • Strong expertise in procurement for solar EPC projects.
    • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
    • Proficient in ERP tools (SAP/Oracle) and MS Office suite.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical) or Supply Chain Management.
    • 18–20 years of procurement experience, with a proven track record in leadership roles.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in the solar or renewable energy industry, particularly in EPC procurement.
