Material Handling Engineer

 

As a Material Handling Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing material handling systems. This includes belt conveyors, silos, hoppers, vibrating feeders, screens, dust extraction systems, trippers, belt feeders, belt weighers, magnetic separators, bucket elevators, reclaimers, stackers, barge loaders, barge unloaders, truck loading/unloading stations, crushers, pneumatic conveying systems, diverters, slide gate valves, and lifting devices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare process flow diagrams, schemes, and layouts for material handling systems in steel plants or power plants.
  • Develop profile drawings, calculations, and general arrangement drawings for belt conveying systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications for material handling equipment, such as reclaimers, stackers, screens, crushers, feeders, etc.
  • Create bill of quantities (BOQ) or bill of materials (BOM) for conveying systems.
  • Design and develop technological structures, including concept notes, flow diagrams, conveyor design calculations, GA drawings, and detail fabrication drawings.
  • Procure material handling equipment, including datasheets, technical specifications, bid analysis, offer evaluation, technical recommendations, and vendor document reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, such as IS, CEMA, and ISO.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-15 years of experience in design engineering.
  • Proficiency in Auto-Cad and MS-Office software.
