This is a highly sought-after leadership role for an experienced professional to lead and manage programmes within our organisation.

The Associate Director – Programmes will play a pivotal role in advancing the organisation's programme portfolio, driving strategic planning, and delivering impactful initiatives across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Programme Planning: Develop long-term strategies and annual plans for programme themes, identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation to strengthen impact.
  • Programme Management Oversight: Oversee select programme areas to ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with agreed goals, provide guidance to project teams to enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Partnership Development and Engagement: Engage with implementing agencies, knowledge partners, and peer organisations to strengthen programme outcomes, represent the organisation in external forums as required.
  • Team Support and Development: Provide mentoring support to mid-level team members to help them grow into leadership roles, foster a collaborative culture that values learning and accountability.
  • Progress Monitoring and Learning: Ensure effective systems for tracking progress, capturing lessons, and adapting strategies, support preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge products.
  • Financial and Compliance Management: Contribute inputs to budget planning and monitor utilisation in assigned programme areas, ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance frameworks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in social sciences, development studies, public policy, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 12–15 years of relevant experience in programme design, management, or evaluation within the development sector, including experience in leadership roles.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and team management skills, ability to develop and manage multi-stakeholder partnerships, excellent communication and analytical abilities, demonstrated capacity to think strategically and translate plans into results, ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and social contexts.
