The ideal candidate will drive business growth by developing and implementing comprehensive category strategies for Bakery. They will oversee the product assortment within the bakery category, ensuring a balanced mix of offerings that cater to consumer preferences.

A key aspect of this role is conducting regular market research to gather insights into consumer preferences, emerging trends, and potential growth areas.

The Category Strategist will work closely with sales and R&D teams to ensure alignment of objectives and seamless execution of bakery category plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Analyzing sales data to understand present offerings to key customers, understanding the bakery category performance and metrics, identifying gaps and untapped opportunities with strategic accounts, and formulating a strategic growth plan for the bakery category considering market dynamics: customer and competition landscape.
  • Pipeline Development: Driving initiatives that are customer-led to improve pipeline that aids business growth, timely reviewing with sales and R&D teams, and facilitating seamless execution of pipeline projects.
  • Project Management: End-to-end coordination with internal stakeholders for customer innovation days/meetings, developing sales pitches and training the sales team for key account engagements, and understanding customer future requirements and presenting it to internal stakeholders based on market relevance of the concept.

Drive Innovation:

  • Identifying gaps and untapped opportunities in the product portfolio with respect to consumer preference, market requirements, and market trends, supporting R&D using the above information to develop future product portfolios thereby meeting market demands, collaborating with R&D to identify innovative products in the bakery category along with building a pitch portfolio which can be presented to other larger customer bases.

Requirements:

This role requires a combination of analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in data analysis, market research, and strategic planning is essential, as well as the ability to adapt to changing market conditions and priorities.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
