Mancer Consulting Services is a dynamic and innovative company seeking an experienced Executive Director of Labor Relations to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping our labor relations strategy and ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in employee relations, labor law, and negotiation techniques. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in an Employee Relations role and a thorough understanding of state laws concerning labor relations.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze information and data necessary to define and discern policy implications related to employee relations, including management and proposals, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.
- Review HR policies and formulate new/revised HR policies in close collaboration with the Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) and the Office of the Legal Advisor.
- Identify the need for new and revised Staff Regulations and Rules, Administrative Directives, Information Circulars, etc. human resource policies and HR procedures tailored to the specific requirements.
- Conduct research regarding human resource policies, compensation, and other employment issues through surveys, interviews, and other studies, making recommendations on changes after sensitizing the information.
- Research and explain laws and legal affairs concerning employment to managers, supervisors, and employees.
- Advise and train managers and supervisors in best employee relations practices and strategies for managing supervisor problems and employee grievances, developing further training as needed.
- Represent the organization in contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.
- Collaborate with leadership on matters of policy and terms of memoranda of understanding before and throughout the negotiation process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Employee Relations role.
- Overall minimum experience 8-10 years.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of state laws concerning labor relations.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Thorough understanding of negotiation techniques.
- Thorough understanding of dispute resolution and compensation administration.
- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
Education and Certification:
A Master's degree in Human Resources/Law is preferred but not required. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
