Construction Product Specialist

 

About This Role:

This role involves working with various stakeholders, including architects and engineers, to ensure that our construction products are specified and used in projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Building Relationships:

a) Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers in the construction industry, including architects, engineers, contractors, and project managers.

b) Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitor activity to ensure that our company is well-positioned to meet the needs of customers.

c) Work collaboratively with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and technical support, to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to meeting customer needs.

d) Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, advertising, and other means.

e) Achieve assigned sales targets and contribute to the company's growth objectives.

f) Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on customer needs and market trends.

2. Product Knowledge:

a) Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's construction products, including their features, benefits, and applications.

b) Stay current on relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards to provide informed advice to customers.

c) Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement product training programs for sales and technical staff.

d) Participate in product development and testing as needed to ensure that products meet customer needs.

3. Communication:

a) Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and expectations are managed.

b) Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and other materials to support sales efforts.

c) Write clear, concise reports and updates to summarize progress and recommend actions.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A degree in a related field (e.g., civil engineering, architecture, or business administration)

- 5+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in sales or marketing

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Willingness to travel regularly (approximately 50% of time)
