Job Description

As a Senior Manager Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with senior business and technology partners to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Coaching team members on coding practices, design principles, and implementation patterns that lead to high-quality maintainable solutions.
  • Designing and developing key functionality within applications.
  • Carrying out design reviews/code reviews at agreed points throughout the project life cycle.
  • Working closely with product teams to understand business requirements and user acceptance testing teams to support during UAT phases.
  • Handling the design and development of technical artifacts.
  • Participating in technical and design reviews and defining/improving processes within projects by proposing innovative solutions.
  • Communicating excellently and maintaining strong inter-personal relationships, both with business customers and with fellow IT professionals.
  • Demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and focusing on promptly addressing customer needs.
  • Having the ability to multi-task and work to deadlines.
  • Being able to work within a diverse and inclusive team, technically curious, self-starter, versatile, and solution-oriented.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Architecture/design, strong skills around object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in key technologies Java (Spring Boot, Dropwizard or equivalent framework), Spring Boot, Containerization (Docker and Kubernetes), Cloud Native Architecture (AWS) and OracleDB.
  • Proficient in a front-end technology either React/ReactJS, Redux, Angular/AngularJS, JQuery, NodeJS, or other Web frameworks.
  • Experience with messaging and integration frameworks like JMS, RabbitMQ, AMQP, MQ, Kafka, Experience with JDBC/JPBA frameworks such as Hibernate.
  • Thorough understanding of the System Development Life Cycle and Development methodologies including Agile.
  • Experience with SQL databases such as Sybase and Oracle, good to have with NoSQL databases such as HBase, Cassandra, and tools such as Apache Spark.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to manage relationships with Business stakeholders.
  • Organize and prioritize within complex delivery programs.
  • Working experience in any public Cloud like AWS and private cloud (Cloud Foundry).
  • Good understanding of RDMS (Oracle)/PostgreSQL along with ORM technologies with expertise in following - Hibernate, JPA, Spring Data, knowledge of Design Patterns for scalable Architecture.
  • Understanding of testing tool and test automation techniques with experience in - JUnit, Mockito, Power Mockito, Spring Test Framework.
  • Experience with CICD tools such as Jenkins and deployment automation tools.
