Developer Experience Engineer

About this role

We seek a Developer Experience Engineer who can drive initiatives for improved developer experience, accelerated release cycles, and scalable internal platforms. This role involves hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and strategy with a focus on building tools and frameworks that enhance developer velocity.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams and set the vision and execution roadmap for Developer Productivity / Platform Engineering.
  • Design and build internal tools/platforms to optimize CI/CD, testing frameworks, and infrastructure automation.
  • Drive adoption of cloud-native solutions (Kubernetes, AWS, ephemeral environments, service monitoring tools).
  • Partner with engineering leaders to align developer experience initiatives with organization-wide goals and objectives.
  • Champion best practices around continuous delivery, developer efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Evangelize the team's work internally (workshops, training, cross-team adoption) and externally (conferences, open-source contributions).
  • Mentor engineers, foster innovation, and cultivate a culture of experimentation and learning.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years in platform or developer productivity roles.
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Spinnaker/Jenkins/ArgoCD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, dynamic test selection, and code quality gates.
  • Strong coding skills in Go, Python, or Java, with preference for Go in tooling and frameworks.
  • Experience designing ephemeral environments and monitoring/observability tools.
  • Proven track record of leading small teams, mentoring engineers, and driving large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong communication and influence skills to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
