Backend Data Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Backend Data Specialist with strong SQL expertise to support the migration of data solutions from Azure Synapse Analytics to SQL-based systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of professional experience in backend development and SQL, with the ability to design, optimize, and deliver scalable data workflows.

  • Migrate data and processes from Azure Synapse to SQL Server or other SQL platforms.
  • Design and implement backend services and APIs that integrate seamlessly with SQL databases.
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring scalability, security, and data integrity.
  • Apply best practices in data modelling, indexing, and performance tuning.
Required Skills
  • Professional experience in backend development and SQL databases.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server (or equivalent relational databases).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and database migration/ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in a backend programming language such as C#, Python, Java, or Node.js.
  • Experience with API development and integration.
  • Solid understanding of relational database design and normalization principles.

  • Performance tuning of large-scale SQL queries.
  • NoSQL or hybrid data solutions.
  • CI/CD pipelines and DevOps for database deployments.
