Solar Power Project Manager Job Description

The role of a Solar Engineer involves overseeing the implementation of solar power projects. This includes ensuring timely completion, quality control, and compliance with safety regulations.

  • Familiarity with solar power project components such as modules, inverters, cables, and mounting structures is essential.
  • Understanding of electrical networks and solar power system design is crucial for success in this position.
  • Technical skills: AutoCAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and knowledge of electrical systems are mandatory.
  • Candidates should be detail-oriented, have good communication skills, and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required, along with at least 3 years of experience in solar power project management.
  • Absorbent qualities, ability to study Autocad placement drawings, and map the drawings to on-site implementations is expected from the candidate.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, team leadership, and time management skills are necessary for this role.
Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing solar PV projects within set timelines and budgets.
  2. Ensuring that all project deliverables meet quality standards, health and safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  3. Coordinate with labor teams, vendors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
  4. Oversee daily operations, including unloading/storage, site preparation, and installation.
  5. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of project progress, issues, and resolutions.
  6. Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks and ensure project continuity.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in solar power project management.
  • Excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software applications.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific tools, techniques, and technologies.
