Strategic HR Leader for India Operations

Fueling Brains & Academies is a pioneering organization dedicated to transforming education through holistic, whole-brain approaches. We seek an experienced HR Director with 15+ years of comprehensive HR expertise to lead our Indian operations. This role will ensure alignment with global HR strategies, working primarily in Indian Standard Time (IST) with some overlap for early US hours.
Job OverviewWe are looking for a seasoned HR professional to oversee end-to-end recruitment, manage the systems team, and handle HR needs for onsite resources. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, people management, and data analysis skills, with deep knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Management: Lead the Indian HR team, managing all onsite resources, and providing strategic direction and guidance across HR functions to support business goals.
- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Oversee end-to-end recruitment efforts to attract top talent, including workforce planning, talent sourcing, interview processes, and onboarding strategies.
- Systems & Operations Oversight: Manage and oversee the systems team, ensuring smooth HR operations, effective utilization of HRIS, and efficient payroll and benefits administration.
- Employee Relations & Engagement: Foster a positive work environment, enhance employee engagement, and address employee relations issues promptly to support a high-performance culture.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize data analysis to inform decision-making, track HR metrics, and report on trends and insights to the VP HR in Calgary, supporting global alignment.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and company policies, managing risks and promoting best practices in HR operations.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement HR initiatives and drive employee development, performance management, and retention strategies.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is preferred.
- 15+ years of HR experience, including end-to-end recruitment and team management; experience in HRIS or systems management is highly desirable.
- Strong team coordination, leadership, and people management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, HR metrics, and HRIS for informed decision-making.
- Deep knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR compliance standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
