Sustainability Marketing Specialist Job Description

The role of Sustainability Marketing Specialist is crucial in driving a pivotal sustainability initiative called CarbonCut. This project aims to reduce the environmental impact of marketing and advertising activities by providing businesses with tools to accurately calculate and offset carbon emissions generated by overall marketing efforts.

As a Sustainability Marketing Specialist, you will execute sustainability-focused marketing initiatives across content, social, partnerships, and performance reporting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing sustainability-led campaigns across social, email, and blog platforms
  • Translating sustainability insights into clear, on-brand content that resonates with our target audience
  • Owning content calendars; coordinating with design, product, and ESG teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Managing community engagement and basic influencer/partner outreach to foster strong relationships
  • Tracking KPIs (reach, engagement, CTR, leads) and delivering weekly reports with actionable recommendations
  • Ensuring accurate, compliant sustainability claims across all assets

Must-haves for this role include:

  • Strong ownership and follow-through on assigned tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of marketing and sustainability fundamentals, including SDGs and circularity

Requirements for success in this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications/Environmental Studies/Management or related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to adapt tone and style as needed
  • Hands-on experience with digital channels; basic SEO and analytics familiarity (GA4/social dashboards)
  • Proficiency with Google Docs/Sheets/Slides; detail-oriented and deadline-driven with excellent organizational skills
