Job Overview

As a production engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the production lifecycle, from planning and execution to quality control and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production Planning: Develop and implement effective production plans that meet customer demands and operational requirements.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians to ensure efficient production operations.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to guarantee product excellence.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase productivity, efficiency, and overall performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-15 years of experience in freight car business and wagon manufacturing business.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs like Microsoft Office and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of production processes and procedures including welding, assembly, and testing.
Competencies:
  • Knowledge of wagon engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in executing large-scale production projects.
  • Understanding of quality control and safety regulations in rail industry/heavy fabrication industries.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies.
  • Strong execution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
  • Team management and conflict resolution skills.
