Job Opportunity: Openedge Support Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Application Support Specialist to join our team. As an Openedge Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support services to our applications built on Progress OpenEdge.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for applications using Progress OpenEdge technology.
  • Monitoring application performance and ensuring system availability to meet business requirements.
  • Analyzing and resolving incidents, service requests, and problem tickets in a timely manner.
  • Performing root cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes to recurring issues to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Coordinating with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments to maintain application stability.
  • Supporting application upgrades, patches, and migration activities to stay up-to-date with the latest technology advancements.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing.

In order to excel in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL) in a support environment.
  • A good understanding of Progress Database concepts and performance troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting languages.
  • Exposure to ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or Remedy.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
