Chemicals and Materials Project Manager Role

As a seasoned project manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading our chemicals and materials global practice within an advisory team. With a focus on market assessment, market-entry analysis, distribution channel evaluation, due diligence, and customer satisfaction across chemicals and related process industries, you will work closely with senior management to develop and refine project scopes, schedules, and client deliverables.

  • Guide research teams and oversee proprietary project deliverables
  • Work with senior management to develop/refine project scope, scheduling, budget, and client deliverables
  • Drive staff performance for successful study completion
  • Assure study content and quality
  • Write/review reports for proprietary studies
  • Conduct analysis, develop appraisals, and prepare presentations with the project team
  • Present findings to clients
  • Conduct primary interviews for critical insights
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Assist business development meetings and presentations

Key Responsibilities:

Project Scope Management
  • Develop and refine project scopes, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with senior management
  • Ensure effective project planning, execution, and monitoring
  • Manage project timelines and milestones to meet or exceed client expectations
Team Leadership
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
  • Develop and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages open communication and innovation
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through regular communication and updates
  • Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty

Requirements:

Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • At least ten years of consulting experience in the chemical industry
  • Experience developing, managing, and presenting project results to senior management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multinational team
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a team environment to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering (preferably Chemical), or a related field; MBA is a plus
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to meet deadlines
