Linux Systems Engineer

We seek a seasoned Linux Systems Engineer to join our organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Linux operating systems, including Red Hat 6/7/8 and CentOS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration: Manage and maintain Linux operating systems, including configuration, software package installation, account maintenance, file permissions, system tuning, Shell scripting, LVM, TCP/UDP, SNMP, DNS, NFS, SSH, Sudo, syslog.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot performance issues, manage system services, and implement system hardening.
  • Break/Fix Tasks: Assist with break/fix tasks and release management, including patching.
  • Networking: Develop a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking in the OSI model in LAN/WAN environments.
  • Communication Skills: Work effectively across varying organization levels, utilizing excellent time management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service when handling incident response.
  • Cloud Administration: Utilize knowledge of VMware environments and other cloud administration (AWS, Azure, Google) for optimal results.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Linux systems administrator or equivalent education or training.
  • Education: A degree resulting in an associate or bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications.
  • Familiarity: Familiarity with ITIL and ticketing systems.
  • Enterprise Systems: Experience with enterprise systems for monitoring.
  • Certifications: Any relevant certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CCENT, VMware VCP, AWS, Azure.
