Seeking a Strategic Partner
Role: DeepTech Investment Expertise
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing & Research:
- Proactively identify innovative DeepTech startups and founders across India's academic and research ecosystem.
- Build and maintain relationships with technology incubators, accelerators, and industry experts.
- Conduct market landscaping, sector mapping, and pipeline development to stay ahead in the competitive landscape.
- Track trends in science-based innovation and breakthrough technologies to inform investment decisions.
- Due Diligence:
- Evaluate technology readiness, business models, intellectual property, and founder-market fit to ensure alignment with investment goals.
- Support technical and commercial due diligence in collaboration with domain experts to provide comprehensive insights.
- Prepare investment memos and present findings to the investment committee for informed decision-making.
- Portfolio Support:
- Work closely with founders to track milestones, financials, and fundraising readiness to optimize portfolio performance.
- Assist in building post-investment value creation plans to drive long-term growth and returns.
- Coordinate with incubators, labs, and academic networks for technical support to enhance portfolio companies' capabilities.
- Fund Operations:
- Support investment documentation and compliance to ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain internal databases (deal flow, portfolio, LP reporting inputs) to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Assist in preparing presentations for limited partners, partners, and ecosystem engagements to promote transparency and collaboration.
Required Skills:
- Strong analytical, research, and communication skills to effectively navigate complex information and convey insights.
- Understanding of finance, financial modeling, and valuation skills to evaluate investment opportunities and inform decisions.
- Experience or interest in DeepTech sectors, including understanding Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) stages and commercial viability of research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders and build strong relationships.
