Financial Analyst Role

This position is responsible for providing decision support in the form of financial deal profiling and pricing guidance to ensure a comprehensive understanding of risks and financial opportunities for major bids, quotes, and proposals.

The successful candidate will have experience in finance or related specialties, with a strong analytical background and excellent communication skills. They will be able to work comfortably with senior management, interact with colleagues at all levels, and adapt to an unpredictable environment.

  • Responsibilities:
    1. Assess regional bids and proposals for price requested, gross margin return, non-standards, unusual risk, commercial terms, and channel program integrity (where applicable).
    2. Undertake gross margin analysis for specific customer opportunities through the construction of deal profit and loss statements.
    3. Lead bid opportunity through the bid review process, ensuring proper bid qualification (appropriate financial, commercial, and management approvals prior to deal submission) takes place.
    4. Educate field sales organization and other teams on deals desk processes, including deal structuring best practice, bid review process, systems, and tools.
    5. Coordinate with corporate functions in finance, legal, product, and solutions management to enable more effective competitive wins.
    6. Provide ongoing financial analysis on historical bid trends, competitive price positioning, margin results, and price erosion.
    7. Remain up-to-date in NCR's business model, market, and product knowledge.
    8. Participate in regional pricing and strategic initiatives.
    9. Ensure applicable Sarbanes Oxley and multiple-element accounting requirements are implemented where applicable.

  • Requirements:
    1. 3-5 years of experience in finance or finance-related specialties.
    2. Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or economics.
    3. Recognized professional accounting/business qualification a plus.
    4. Demonstrated financial/analytical skills gained through formal education or work experience.
    5. Good working knowledge of US GAAP and International Accounting Standards, with particular regard to recording revenue-related transactions in line with external and internal requirements.
    6. Proficient in business English (written and verbal communication skills).
    7. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Experience with CPQ tools and Business Objects a plus.
    8. Experience/knowledge of technology sector sales and channels operations.
    9. Ability/confidence to work comfortably with senior management, interact with colleagues at all levels, across multiple countries and cultures.
    10. Ability to perform multiple projects simultaneously to effectively manage and produce results in an unpredictable environment with short operational cycles.
    11. High level of motivation/initiative.
    12. Experience with a multinational firm; technology/SaaS experience preferred.
    13. Confidence dealing with less-than-perfect data (e.g., cleaning, fusing, extrapolating).
