Job Summary:

The Residential Director will oversee the overall management, discipline, safety, and welfare of students residing in the hostel. This role requires maintaining a healthy, secure, and student-friendly environment while ensuring compliance with university policies and addressing the needs of hostel residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hostel Operations: Oversee daily hostel operations, including accommodation, maintenance, housekeeping, and catering. Allot rooms and maintain occupancy records. Monitor infrastructure and report maintenance issues promptly. Ensure hygienic conditions and proper functioning of hostel facilities.
  • Student Welfare & Discipline: Maintain discipline, order, and decorum among hostel residents. Address grievances and counseling needs of students. Ensure safety, security, and well-being of students within hostel premises. Enforce hostel rules, regulations, and code of conduct.
  • Coordination & Supervision: Supervise support staff, including ward boys, housekeeping, and security personnel. Coordinate with mess staff for quality food service and timely meals. Liaise with university administration on hostel-related matters. Organize hostel activities, orientation, and community-building events.
  • Safety & Security: Ensure proper security arrangements within hostel premises. Maintain visitor records and restrict unauthorized entry. Respond promptly to emergencies (medical, safety, or disciplinary). Ensure fire safety and health regulations compliance.

Eligibility & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Social Sciences, Education, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Hostel Director/Administrator, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Experience as an Ex-Service member is desirable.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and responsibly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and record-keeping.
