Job Summary

As a Strategic Product Manager at The Nielsen Company, you will be responsible for developing and executing product roadmaps that drive business growth and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify market opportunities, define product requirements, and prioritize features to deliver high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with global technology, operations, and product partners to co-develop product roadmaps and drive product features from concept to launch in an agile environment.
  • Turn insights into product features with actionable outcomes.
  • Work in an Agile environment and continuously review business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones, and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Develop, own, and execute product roadmaps.
  • Translate product roadmap features into well-defined product requirements, including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Prioritize and maintain the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of stakeholders.
  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge stakeholder requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases.
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with stakeholders and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.
  • Guide and coach an Engineering Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers.
  • Coach the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillset, domain knowledge, and communicate effectively, both internally and externally, working within the Scrum team.
  • Work with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.
  • Resolve team impediments with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.
  • Contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization.
  • Facilitate and support all Scrum events: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of project management, product ownership, or software product development experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions with a customer-first mindset.
  • Established background in launching software or services in partnership with engineering teams and a high degree of proficiency in iterative development, understanding of Agile principles.
  • Customer-first mindset.
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.

  • Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of an Agile framework or method (Scrum, Kanban), or understanding of software development life cycle models as well as in-depth knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices.
