Transformative Product Platform Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, execute, and commercialise initiatives that lead to a world-class brokerage platform that services clients across the continuum, from mass affluent to high net worth and beyond.
  • Work alongside technology as a product manager, prioritising features and capabilities, grooming an agile backlog, elaborating user stories, and taking an active role in agile software development.
  • Educate innovation into modern technologies based on emerging capabilities in the market today and those that arrive in the future.
  • Create a distinctive and compelling client-led trading brand proposition based around a direct-to-consumer platform interaction, by confidently realising a clear vision positioning HSBC as the market leader.
  • Play a significant role in the Capital Markets business, particularly self-directed securities trading which includes use case development, user journey mapping, commercial KPI definition, positioning, naming, partnerships, product links, etc., as well as the key enablers that underpin its delivery.
  • Maintain strong awareness of external industry trends, competitor approaches and strengths, regulator and exchange reporting, platform innovations.
  • Drive and manage strategic development and implementation to increase market competitiveness and enhance brand value.
  • Implement change through positive and proactive engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solicit market intelligence and keep close dialogue with key stakeholders and customers to understand their needs, preferences, and new product trends.
  • Collaborate and build effective relationships to support the proposition Local and Group Marketing, Customer, D&A, Proposition, Strategy, Strategic Partnerships, Technology, and Digital.
  • Requirements:
    • Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of modern technology.
    • Ensure application of compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory requirements, expectations, standards, policies, and optimise relations with regulators by addressing any issues.
    • Adhere to local/regional/global Statement of Business Principles and Code of Ethics.
    • Established 10-year track record of agile platform delivery within large financial services organisations, especially with external partners, as a product owner or product manager.
    • Minimum 5 years of working experience in mid/senior role at retail or private bank investment product development, especially in client-led trading.
    • Proven skills cleaning data sets and automating the creation of compelling graphics in established tools like Python, Qliksense, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
    • Experience in leadership at specialist brokerages, bank-brokers, or fintechs in India is well-regarded.
    • Years of experience managing and working alongside external partners is well-regarded.
    • Undergraduate degree or equivalent. (E). Advanced Degree (Masters, PhD) and function-specific certification or degree preferred.
    • Proven leadership skills in a changing environment.

What We're Looking For:

A seasoned professional with a strong track record of delivering agile platforms within large financial services organisations. You will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in mid-senior roles at retail or private bank investment product development, particularly in client-led trading. Proven skills in cleaning data sets and automating the creation of compelling graphics using established tools are essential.
