Aviation Principal Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Airfield Engineer to join our team as a Principal Engineer in India. The ideal candidate will have expertise in delivering airfield civil engineering design and maintenance projects, from feasibility studies to detailed design and construction. This role offers the opportunity to lead and grow a dynamic team, working on various clients' projects both in the UK and internationally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of airfield civil engineering projects, including planning, budgeting, and managing project resources. They will also be involved in preparing technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications related to airfield engineering projects. Additionally, they will participate in design reviews, ensure compliance with WSP quality management requirements, and champion excellent health and safety practices.

This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and effective time management to meet project deadlines. A degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification is essential, and experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant software packages is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure design at airports, with expertise in large, complex multi-disciplinary airport projects. They should be able to manage engineering professionals, prioritize responsibilities, and work under pressure to deliver results. A Chartered or Incorporated status (MICE, MCIHT, or equivalent) is highly valued, as well as knowledge of international airfield design standards and construction contracts such as NEC 4.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure design at airports.
