Job Description

The Grant Proposal Specialist will research and identify funding opportunities for a reputable foundation. This role requires close collaboration with the team to formulate well-thought-out concepts and write polished proposals to secure grant money for program activities.

The key duties include researching funding opportunities, drafting grant requests, and submitting reports for approval within deadlines. The successful candidate should be able to work closely with the foundation team to understand the details and nuances of the program, outcomes, and impact creation through effective communication.

  • Study and comprehend the vision, objectives, outcomes, growth, and financial needs of the organization
  • Research and identify grant opportunities from various sources, including institutional grants, CSR funding, government bodies, and individual donors
  • Draft grant proposals and support documents based on the funding requirements of the organization
  • Submit proposals to the foundation and fundraising team for approval
  • Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals
  • Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities
  • Provide input on effective communication of the organization's work, grants received, outcomes achieved, etc., on social media to reinforce its reputation
  • Take ownership of submitted proposals and proactively work towards successfully converting at least one grant RFP per quarter
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience
  • At least 2-3 years prior experience as a proposal writer with a grant-seeking organization and history of submitting successful proposals
  • Knowledge or deep interest in the natural world, conservation, and sustainability
  • Ability to grasp and convey the nuances of the organization's work
  • Prior knowledge of fundraising sources for biodiversity and conservation communication is desirable
  • Analytical thinker who is able to put together a structured proposal that conveys the program and its outcomes in a clear and engaging manner
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time-zones
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Self-driven and motivated
  • Should be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Must possess the required computer skills such as proficiency in MS Word, PPT, and Excel
