Job Description:
The Assistant Payroll Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll operations in India, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, compliance with Indian labor laws, and payroll-related reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage monthly payroll processing for all employees to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Validate and reconcile inputs such as attendance, leave records, new joiners, exits, salary revisions, and variable pay.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), TDS, gratuity, and other applicable labor laws.
  • Handle employee queries related to salary, taxation, and payroll policies.
  • Prepare payroll Management Information System (MIS), reports, and analytics for management review.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Support process automation, audits, and continuous improvement in payroll systems.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, or HR. MBA/PGDM or CMA/ CA
  • 7-10 years of payroll management experience (India payroll)


Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (SAP, ADP etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, reconciliations)
  • Knowledge of income tax and statutory compliance


Personal Qualities:
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills
