Linux Support Role

This is a key position in our organization, requiring an individual with advanced technical skills to provide support for Linux systems.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Level 2 support for Linux systems in a mission-critical banking environment.
  • They must ensure compliance with PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local banking regulator requirements.
  • Additionally, they will operate under ITIL processes (Incident/Change/Problem/Knowledge).

Key Responsibilities

  • The system administrator will maintain high availability, performance, and security of the Linux systems, and participate in DR/BCP drills.
  • They will troubleshoot complex incidents and manage approved platform changes.
  • Further, they will conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • System configuration tuning and scheduling jobs to enhance performance and reliability are also expected.
  • The administrator will coordinate vendor TAC cases, firmware/patch planning, and validate post-change health.
  • Finally, they must demonstrate strong documentation, runbook hygiene, and clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset with readiness for 24x7 support and on-call rotation is essential.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in Linux support (L2) or 10+ years (L3)
  • Proficiency in Linux Virtual, RHEL, CentOS, Debian GNU, FreeBSD, and Ubuntu, Non x86 Linux is required.
