About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Value Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on business valuation matters, including:

  • Extracting and mapping data from financial statements, tax returns, and bank statements into valuation models and Excel-based tools
  • Conducting research on industry trends, guideline public companies, and precedent transactions
  • Analyzing historical and projected financial statements to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for further investigation
  • Identifying and implementing appropriate normalization adjustments to financial statements
  • Assisting in building and refining valuation models, performing adjustments, and applying quantitative techniques to support business valuation conclusions
  • Contributing to the drafting of narrative sections of valuation reports, documenting key assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions in clear and professional language
  • Prioritizing projects and participating in scheduling meetings
  • In time, overseeing all stages of the valuation project life cycle, applying appropriate valuation methodologies, and reconciling value indications, and preparing and finalizing the first draft of valuation reports, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with professional standards
  • Establishing and managing a team over time requires strong leadership, team building, and people management capabilities.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • A business valuation credential (CFA), CA, MBA, or other advanced degree or certification
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Minimum four years of experience in accounting or finance
