Job Title: ServiceNow CMDB Analyst

As a seasoned IT professional, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and updating the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within ServiceNow.

  • Maintain accurate and complete data in the CMDB, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Develop and implement processes for identifying, recording, and managing configuration items (CIs) and their relationships.
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure all CIs are accurately recorded and updated in the CMDB.
Data Integrity & Quality

Audit regularly to guarantee the integrity and quality of CMDB data.

  • Identify and rectify data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies within the CMDB.
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards and processes.
Process Development & Improvement

Design and implement configuration management processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective CMDB solutions.
  • Continuously monitor and improve CMDB processes to align with industry best practices and business needs.
Integration & Automation

Integrate the CMDB with other IT systems and tools to enable automation and improve data flow.

  • Develop and maintain scripts, workflows, and tools to automate CMDB-related tasks.
  • Work with IT operations and other teams to ensure seamless integration of CMDB with other ServiceNow modules.
Reporting & Analytics

Generate reports and dashboards to provide insights into the health and status of the CMDB.

  • Analyze CMDB data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management and stakeholders on CMDB performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 5 years of experience working with ServiceNow CMDB in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in managing and maintaining a complex CMDB in a large enterprise environment.
Skillset

You will bring the following skills and qualifications to this position:

  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices, particularly Configuration Management.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow platform, specifically in CMDB, Discovery, and Asset Management modules.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Familiarity with integration tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
