Key Account Manager Role

Job Overview:

As a Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key modern trade retailers to drive sales volume, revenue, and profitability. This role involves building long-term relationships with stakeholders across modern trade accounts, developing and implementing short- and long-term strategies, and delivering on set targets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong connections with key account representatives, category heads, buyers, merchandisers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Strategy Development & Planning: Develop comprehensive strategies to meet sales volume, revenue, and profitability targets, including identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Joint Business Planning (JBP): Collaborate with key accounts to co-create annual JBP's that outline sales targets, promotion calendars, in-store execution KPI's, and marketing initiatives.
  • Account Management: Manage the overall P&L for the Modern Trade channel, ensuring optimal brand presence, execution, and profitability.
  • Business Expansion: Identify and acquire new modern trade accounts or chains to expand market presence and drive growth.
  • In-Store Execution: Plan and execute in-store promotional activities, sampling programs, thematic displays, and activations to drive offtake and enhance customer engagement.
  • Market Intelligence & Sales Analytics: Continuously track and report market trends, consumer behavior, competitor activity, pricing, and promotion strategies to inform business decisions.
  • Training & Support: Provide training and support to field sales teams, promoters, and merchandisers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to drive in-store performance.
