Job Description

The role of a Financial Analyst is to oversee the financial aspects of trading activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the banks trading book. This includes maintenance of compliance with regulatory requirements and provision of insights into trading performance.

As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for reconciling daily profit and loss figures for trading desks to ensure they align with valued positions in the trading book. You will also support the identification, assessment, and mitigation of trading risks, and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues.

In addition, you will maintain and analyze the bank's trading data, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and consistency. You will also provide insights to traders and senior colleagues on trading performance.

Furthermore, you will prepare and submit regulatory reports to authorities, and provide support to external audits, including addressing auditor queries and ensuring trading activities are appropriately reflected in financial statements.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experienced with MS office toolkit.
  • Qualified accountant.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings.
  • Strong control awareness, particularly the ability to identify and escalate potential control breakdowns and to streamline processes in an effective and efficient manner.
