International Trade Specialist

As an International Trade Specialist, you will be responsible for performing Customs trade HTS & ECCN Classification determinations for spare parts and other products for import and export. Your role will also involve assisting in compliance data collection and record keeping, as well as supporting compliance training and audit activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Classification analysis: Conduct thorough classification analysis to arrive at accurate HTS and ECCN Classifications using various trade tools such as GRIs, CROSS rulings, WCO explanatory notes, and Export Regulations & other Classification Tools.
  • Compliance support: Provide assistance with compliance data collection and record keeping, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately documented and up-to-date.
  • Training and audit support: Support compliance training and audit activities, helping to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze compliance reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Root cause analysis: Participate in root cause analysis of international trade issues, recommending solutions to help implement corrective actions.
  • Customs inquiries: Support Customs inquiries related to classifications of products.
  • Other projects: Assist with other projects assigned by trade management, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to take on new challenges.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced technology and process knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of advanced technology and processes involved in Semiconductor, Flat Panel, Solar cell manufacturing (SEMI, Nanomanufacturing).
  • Trade compliance expertise: Strong knowledge of import and/or export trade compliance elements, including Harmonized Tariff Schedules, Export Classification Commodity Numbers, Customs entry process, Customs invoicing requirements, special trade program requirements, etc.
  • Classification analysis skills: Ability to conduct thorough classification analysis, arriving at accurate HTS and ECCN Classifications.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex trade concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
