Job Title: Trade Finance Specialist

  • Act as the domain expert for trade finance in platform development, ensuring alignment with banking practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Define and validate workflows for trade finance instruments such as Letters of Credit, Bills of Exchange, Invoices, Bills of Lading, Import/Export documentation.
  • Provide compliance and regulatory inputs, including UCP 600, ISBP, FEMA, AML, KYC, OFAC, and ICC guidelines.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, and client teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Validate AI/ML-driven outputs such as OCR accuracy, anomaly detection, and classification of trade documents.
  • Support Vulnerability Assessment, audit, and risk assessments from a trade finance domain perspective.
  • Prepare use-case scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria for new product features.
  • Assist in client onboarding discussions, demos, and training sessions.
  • Advise on business continuity requirements for trade finance operations.
  • Stay updated on the latest trade finance trends, regulations, and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  2. Ensure the trade finance domain is aligned with international banking standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Define and implement trade finance instrument workflows, including Letter of Credit, Bill of Exchange, Invoice, Bill of Lading, and Import/Export documentation.
  4. Provide expertise on regulatory compliance and ensure adherence to relevant laws and guidelines, including UCP 600, ISBP, FEMA, AML/KYC, OFAC, and ICC guidelines.
  5. Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop functional specifications that meet business requirements.
  6. Validate the performance of AI/ML-driven solutions, including OCR accuracy, anomaly detection, and document classification.
  7. Support vulnerability assessment, audits, and risk management activities from a trade finance perspective.
  8. Develop test cases and acceptance criteria for new product features, ensuring they meet business and technical requirements.
  9. Assist in client onboarding, demo sessions, and training programs.
  10. Offer guidance on business continuity planning for trade finance operations.
  11. Stay up-to-date with emerging trade finance trends, regulations, and digital transformation strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience in trade finance operations, compliance, or consulting, preferably with a banking or financial institution background.
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade finance instruments, including Letters of Credit, Bills of Exchange, invoice financing, and supply chain finance.
  • Strong understanding of UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, AML/KYC, FEMA regulations, and SWIFT messaging standards.
  • Experience working with core banking/trade finance platforms.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between business teams and technical developers.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience with digital transformation or fintech products is a plus.
