Job Description
  • Conduct assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardized tests and informal evaluations.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Therapy Plans (ITPs) that cater to each student's unique requirements and objectives.
  • Deliver one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to enhance articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
  • Collaborate closely with special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to ensure integrated student development.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and adapt therapy plans as needed.
  • Assist in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools when appropriate.
  • Educate and train staff and caregivers on effective communication strategies and support techniques.
  • Participate in ITP meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist (as per local/state regulations).
  • Experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities preferred.
  • Proficiency in English and Tamil is required for this role.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized instructional strategies is an asset.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams is crucial.
  • Good organizational and documentation skills are necessary for this role.
