About Our Special School
We provide education and vocational training for children and adults with disabilities, offering a pre-vocational and vocational training program supported by multidisciplinary teams.
We are seeking a skilled educator to work with learners with multiple disabilities and guide participants in our program. Our goal is to support parents in the schooling journey of their special child by providing highly subsidised fees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Individualised Education Plans tailored to each student's needs, collaborating with parents, therapists, and school staff.
- Deliver instruction based on individual needs and learning styles.
- Modify the standard curriculum to meet students' abilities.
- Implement and monitor behaviour intervention plans using positive behaviour supports.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, counsellors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.
- Audit and track student performance and progress regularly, adjusting goals accordingly.
- Maintain a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and communications.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities.
- Experience working with children and adults with multiple disabilities (3-7 years).
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive aids and devices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good organisational and documentation skills.
- Proficient in English and Tamil.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies.
