Lady Andal House of Children is a special school in Chennai, established by The Madras Seva Sadan, a renowned institution with a legacy in education.
We provide special education and vocational training for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Down Syndrome.
Our Approach- We offer pre-vocational and vocational training programs, including the NIOS curriculum.
- Our multidisciplinary team includes physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and review Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).- Deliver customised instruction to students based on their individual needs and learning styles.
- Modify the standard curriculum to meet the abilities of students with disabilities.
- Implement and monitor behaviour intervention plans and use positive behaviour supports.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, counsellors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.
- Assess and track student performance and progress regularly, adjusting goals accordingly.
- Maintain a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Keep accurate student records, including attendance, assessments, and communications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities.- 3-7 years working experience with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
- Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive aids and devices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Good organisational and documentation skills.
- Proficient in English and Tamil.
