About Us

Lady Andal House of Children is a well-established special school in Chennai, with a long-standing legacy in education.

Our school is dedicated to providing special education and vocational training for children and adults with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Down Syndrome.

We offer pre-vocational and vocational training programs, including the NIOS curriculum, and are supported by a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals providing physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.

At Lady Andal House of Children, we aim to support parents in the schooling journey of their special child by collecting a highly subsidised fee.

We are looking for a skilled Special Educator who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive education.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), providing instructional support tailored to students' unique needs, maintaining thorough documentation and reporting, managing student behavior effectively, and adapting curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.

A commitment to collaboration, empathy, and continuous professional growth is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and regularly review IEPs tailored to each student's needs, in collaboration with parents, therapists, and other school staff.
  • Modify the standard curriculum to meet the abilities of students with disabilities.
  • Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, counsellors, and parents to support students' academic and social development.
  • Assess and track student performance and progress regularly, adjusting goals accordingly.

Maintain a supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or equivalent in Multiple Disabilities.
  • ~3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • ~ Bilingual medium of instruction requires candidates to be proficient in English and Tamil.
