Key Responsibilities & Budgeting

  • Understand project goals, target milestones and budget handed over by the DCO team.
  • Monitor and control overall project budget, tracking and analyzing any shortfall in budget for amendments, prepare and present monthly snapshots of project budgets to stakeholders, highlighting and advising on any major forthcoming expenditures in advance.
  • Cash flow scheduling as per bar chart and planning with resource estimation.
  • Evaluate economic viability of alternative proposals for reducing project costs.
  • Receive quotes and prepare comparative statements against budgeted values.
    • Prepare BBS, estimations, BOQs, tenders and tender documents as per drawings. Contract Administration
  • Post-contract variation statements, negotiate contractual claims, evaluate sub-contractor claims, manage conflicts, administer sub-contracts, delay impact analysis, applications/waivers of liquidated damages, extension of time, and contract closure post-award contract administration critical notifications forming basis of delay and cost claims.
  • Close issues raised by vendors regarding contract terms and conditions, rate validity, rates, and negotiate the same, issuing required work orders.
  • Communicate with other departments such as accounting personnel, engineering, procurement, quality control, and others regarding bid processes, QS, and billing.
  • Ensure typical quantity take-offs are in place by QS for most activities; ensure variations are checked by QS.
  • Acquire and implement new skills in contract administration/billing cycle improvement/vendor performance analysis.
  • Close-out final billing within 3-4 months after project completion, obtaining sign-off on final bills.
  • Skilled in understanding technical discipline processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical reports.
  • Provide details for MIS cash flow.
  • Process vendor work order amendments according to project requirements.
  • Critique bill of quantities/specifications, amendment requests from project teams and vendors, variation statements, etc.
