Job Title: Cloud Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing, and maintaining batch and streaming data pipelines using cloud-based technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using Apache Spark and cloud-based services such as AWS Glue and EMR.
  • Developing and maintaining ETL/ELT processes for data transformation, quality, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-based data platforms.
  • Providing technical leadership and expertise in modern data engineering practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong experience in PySpark and cloud-based technologies such as AWS Glue and EMR.
  • Hands-on expertise in building scalable data pipelines using cloud-based services.
  • Proficiency in using Spark SQL, DataFrame, and RDD APIs to implement complex business logic.
  • Solid coding skills in Python (preferred) with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of modern data engineering ecosystem including distributed data processing, storage systems, and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with current data engineering landscape including cloud data platforms, cloud storage systems, and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Experience working with cloud services such as AWS S3, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, or similar for orchestration/integration.
  • Redshift or other cloud data warehouses.
  • Ability to choose and apply the right Spark APIs (DataFrame, Dataset, RDD) for performance-efficient implementation of business logic at scale.
