Job Description

This role involves performing complex valuation work to meet Indian GAAP and IRDAI regulatory requirements. The candidate is expected to work closely with the team to implement IFRS17.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Performing monthly valuation work, preparing summary reports, and explaining reserve movements.
  • Calculating solvency margin on a monthly and quarterly basis in accordance with IRDAI requirements.
  • Identifying data issues in individual and group life policy data and collaborating with the IT/Admin team to resolve them.
  • Maintaining DCS tool and valuation data, including compliance controls and audit checks.
  • Preparing quarterly and annual submissions to IRDAI on ARA, AAAR, Actuarial Forms BAP, and public disclosures.
  • Managing asset share roll-forward to optimize profitability and reserves of Par business.
  • Calculating declared bonus and assisting with WPC committee requirements.
  • Responding to queries from Peer Reviewer, Statutory Auditor, and IRDAI on reserve sufficiency and solvency positions.
  • Analyzing best estimate valuation assumptions annually and updating assumption documentation based on experience analysis results and other analysis performed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree with at least 5 actuarial exams.
  • 4-6 years of working experience preferably in the valuation function of a life insurance company.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, VBA, and R programming.
  • Familiarity with Actuarial software like Prophet and DCS.
  • Prior knowledge of IFRS17 is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, data management skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good communication and business skills to contribute to business results.
