Job Description:

The primary function of this role is to lead the commercial data team in advertising. This team aims to develop leading property and market insights to power real commercial products.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end technical delivery of complex initiatives using agile methods and frameworks working with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, serving as a subject matter expert in data engineering and related technologies.
  • Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable, efficient, and secure data solutions, considering long-term scalability and maintainability.
  • Drive delivery practices running agile scrum ceremonies and producing agile artefacts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance policies, data quality standards, and data management processes.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and operational efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8-13 years' experience in software development.
  • Proven people leadership and mentoring experience.
  • Well-versed in SQL, Python, ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience with data modelling, pipelines, consumption, analysis, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of delivery approaches such as TDD, CI, and infrastructure automation.
