Program Director

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is a leading institution in science and engineering education and research. It has gained recognition worldwide for its faculty quality, cutting-edge research, industry relations, and outstanding students graduating from its programmes.

About the Centre: The Motilal Oswal Centre for Capital Markets (MOCCM) is an initiative supported by financial services and housed in the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. It fosters education, research, training, and innovation in financial markets, fintech, quantitative finance, and investment management.

Job Purpose:

  • The Program Director will lead strategic, academic, and operational initiatives of the Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    1. Develop programs and initiatives aligned with the Centre's mandate in financial markets research and education.
    2. Formulate and execute the long-term vision and strategy of the Centre.
  2. Education and Research Program Management:
    1. Provide support for research projects, working papers, and good publications in financial markets and related areas.
    2. Support faculty-led research, student engagement, and visiting scholar initiatives.
    3. Organize training programs, workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses.
  3. Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
    1. Build partnerships with financial institutions, statutory bodies, regulatory institutions, industry associations, and other organizations.
    2. Organize seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts.
  4. Operational Oversight:
    1. Manage day-to-day administration of the Centre including resource planning.
    2. Supervise support staff, interns, and research associates.
  5. Communication and Outreach:
    1. Oversee the Centre's visibility (online and offline), including publications, newsletters, and website updates.
    2. Represent the Centre at conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings.

    Desired Profile:

    • Masters or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
    • At least 15 years of experience in academic and/or research institutions, regulatory institutions, financial services companies, industry associations, or other relevant organizations.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programs.
    • Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement is desirable.

    Preferred Attributes:

    • Experience with academic institutions or research centres.
    • Strong professional network in finance or policy domains.
