Hedge Fund Analyst

As a Hedge Fund Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and operational efficiency of hedge fund portfolios.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for hedge fund portfolios by collecting, verifying, and reconciling data from multiple sources to ensure the integrity of portfolio values.
  • Perform Profit and Loss (P&L) reconciliation between fund administrator reports, internal records, and prime broker statements to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Carry out cash reconciliation across custodians, banks, and internal systems to ensure accurate financial reporting and minimize risk.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in positions, pricing, fees, and expenses in a timely manner to maintain portfolio performance and investor trust.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals, to ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in performance reporting and investor statements to provide transparent and reliable information to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, prime brokers, and custodians to ensure accurate trade settlement and reporting to meet regulatory requirements and maintain strong relationships with service providers.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers and risk teams to validate portfolio data and performance metrics to inform investment decisions and optimize portfolio performance.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in hedge fund operations to drive business growth and profitability.

This role requires a strong understanding of financial instruments, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with 2-5 years of experience in fund accounting or hedge fund operations, preferably with exposure to NAV calculation and reconciliation processes. Proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of fund accounting software are an advantage.
