Technical Documentation Specialist

Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Documentation Specialist to join our dynamic software engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and editing technical product documentation, including developer guides, user manuals, web service guides, API reference manuals, installation manuals, help documents, and tutorials.

Your primary responsibility will be to plan, schedule, research, and write high-quality documentation that is technically accurate and conforms to company standards. You will work closely with the engineering team, developers, product architects, and product owners to create documentation that is clear, complete, accurate, and usable.

You will participate in peer review processes to improve documentation quality and contribute to developing and maintaining existing documentation processes, standards, checklists, and templates. Additionally, you will suggest screen labels and error messages to improve the customer experience (UX).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define target audience and outline manuals
  • Document new features and maintain existing documentation
  • Work closely with developers and product teams to create technical documentation
  • Obtain product information from agile meetings and discussions with project engineers
  • Participate in peer review processes to improve documentation quality
  • Contribute to develop and maintain existing documentation processes
  • Suggest screen labels and error messages to improve UX
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Fundamental knowledge of technical writing
  • Experience using MadCap Flare IDE for content writing
  • Familiarity with single-source documentation development methodology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines
