Job Opportunity

A challenging role has become available for a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing menu items requested by their supervisor, maintaining advanced knife handling skills, and working in any section of the kitchen.
  • A strong understanding of food knowledge and culinary terms is essential, along with the ability to read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes.
  • Proficiency in task completion, efficient work habits, and adherence to Public Health standards are also required.
  • The ideal candidate will maintain assigned areas in preparation for inspections and report for duty at assigned times, adhering to company rules and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all basic food items for the menu as requested by supervisors.
  • Maintain advanced knife handling skills and knowledge of culinary terms.
  • Work efficiently and productively in various sections of the kitchen.
  • Follow company recipes and maintain assigned areas for inspections.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • The position is responsible for cost containment through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment.

Motivational Responsibilities:

  • This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Education:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service, with at least 2 years as a Line Cook.
  • A culinary school degree is required, along with strong management skills in multicultural and dynamic environments.
  • Superior customer service, team-building, conflict resolution, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are necessary.
  • Intermediate computer software skills and knowledge of basic accounting principles such as numbering flow, Debits/Credits, adjusting entries, and corrections are also required.
  • The ability to write reports and business correspondence, establish good rapport with Senior Officers and corporate office staff, and possess a good understanding of basic accounting principles are essential.

Internal Candidate Requirements:

  • Completion of at least one contract as Commis Cook with a satisfactory performance rating and demonstrated leadership skills.
