Job Overview

Responsibilities:
  • Patent Filings and Prosecution Support: Assist attorneys with global patent filings and prosecution processes.
  • Docket Management: Update daily dockets for clients worldwide and follow up on patent application filings.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare PTO documents, such as information disclosure statements, patent assignments, declarations, power of attorneys, and title amendments worldwide.
  • Patent Family Identification: Identify and verify patent family members via PTO registers and commercial databases.
  • Bibliographic and Assignment Details: Check bibliographic, assignment, and priority details from PTO registers, file histories, and assignment databases.
  • Patent Portfolio Evaluation: Evaluate the patent portfolio of a target company.
  • Document Proofreading: Proofread patent documents and identify errors introduced by patent offices and/or applicants.
  • Trademark Pre-Filing Search: Conduct trademark pre-filing search in global jurisdictions.
  • Trademark Monitoring: Conduct periodic trademark watch/monitoring for infringing trademarks in global jurisdictions.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Work Experience: Relevant work experience in Paralegal and Docketing roles.
  • IP Knowledge: Sound knowledge of IP paralegal functions.
  • Patent Laws: Sound knowledge of patent prosecution laws in key jurisdictions.
  • IP Databases: Familiarity with IP databases such as CPI, IP Manager, Anaqua, FoundationIP, Memotech, Patricia, Orbit, etc.
  • Timely Task Completion: Ability to ensure tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
