Job Description

This role is to work as part of a team to support the delivery of projects.

The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of a senior or project engineer to carry out various functions including preparing feasibility study reports, working with the team to assemble design specifications and monitoring their preparation, agreeing and monitoring the scope of works, clearly defining building requirements, carrying out detailed designs to WSP and B Regulations standards, reviewing and monitoring the production of calculations, ensuring that information for project costing preparation is completed in requisite detail and to deadlines, providing documentary information to assist in the preparation of tender documents, co-ordinating project contracts documents, dealing with day-to-day queries from the team, reporting any variance between constructed works and design intent, project managing commissions using applicable tools, leading the design process, implementing delivery and quality measurement processes, promoting technical excellence, undertaking technical reviews, contributing to concept designs, providing continuous feedback on protocols and processes, developing positive professional relationships and communicating openly about project progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • The applicant will have proven experience in the design of Building Structures with significant experience in a similar role or demonstration of a good track record.
  • Good presentation skills are also required.
  • The applicant must be fully conversant with technical structural software such as RAM, CSC, ETABS and SAFE.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Project is essential.
  • The applicant must be fluent in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.

The applicant should ideally have obtained British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, possess a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and possess membership to an accredited engineering body. Experience : 14+ years.
