Mortgage Origination Role

As a Mortgage Origination professional, you will oversee the daily management of mortgage loan originations. This includes leading junior lenders (JLs), training, and performance reviews.

  • Direct day-to-day management of JLs to meet performance expectations.
  • Possess working knowledge and hands-on experience with RESPA/TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders to ensure successful closes.

You will enhance customer satisfaction by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing post-closing requirements efficiently. Your goal is to ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to all lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulations.

To achieve this, you will:

  • Improve customer satisfaction through prompt assistance in the application process and completion of post-closing requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulations.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes and procedures and implement changes as needed.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Management of administrative tasks, such as timecards, schedules, vacations, and performance reviews.
  • Continual review of processes and identification of areas for improvement.
  • Identification of strategic and technology improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in mortgage origination, including post-closing review and correspondent experience in US Home Loan products.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, including TRID guidelines.
  • Management experience in human resources or operations management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good supervision, organization, and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Solid judgment skills essential to make quick decisions within written policy and standard operating procedures.
